Kathryn Masten serves as ESAHEC’s Communications, Evaluation, and Impact Coordinator. In this role, she supports organizational communications, program evaluation, and impact reporting that advance healthcare workforce development across Maryland’s Eastern Shore.

Prior to joining ESAHEC, Kathryn worked as an analyst, researcher, educator, and technical communications specialist. As an Assistant Professor at Texas Woman’s University, she developed and taught courses in information and communication technology, grant writing, and nonprofit management. She also worked as a Quality Informatics Analyst for Driscoll Health Plan, supporting healthcare quality improvement efforts, behavioral health performance initiatives, and accreditation activities.

Kathryn has extensive experience helping nonprofit community groups use data, technology, and communications to strengthen programs and services. A resident of Dorchester County, she leads the Community Informatics Institute, which maintains the DorchesterConnect.com website and is launching a community radio station in Vienna.

Kathryn holds a Ph.D. in Information Science, a Master of Public Administration, and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology.
